The Principality of Liechtenstein, is the fourth smallest country in Europe, is located between Switzerland and Austria, is surrounded by the Alps and is crossed by the Rhine.
The climate is cold due its location and the turism is a very important part of the economy. The country is good for snow sports, such as skiing or snowboarding and has the particularity of having the lowest unemployment rates in the world, 2%.
It is a very small country but certainly worth a visit, the capital, Vaduz has only 5 000 inhabitants and is probably the quietest capital of Europe, the buildings are all with 4 floors at most, very few people in the streets and almost no noise, is a great contrast compared to the majoraty European capitals.
The Vaduz Castle, is located at the top of the slope directly above the capital and is the official residence of the princes of Liechtenstein.
The Postal Museum, is a museum dedicated to stamps and related products , that during many years have been the main source of income in this country.
Liechtenstein is an expensive country, wages are high and the cost of living is expensive, but because it is such a small country, there are simply not many opportunities to spend money.
We liked Liechtenstein a lot, during the two days that we were in this country we had the opportunity to walk a lot and saw some beautiful villages in the middle of the mountains, with people seeming to have a very good quality of life, not on a material level, but on a human level .
